Festival Carnival Procession

Festival Carnival Procession

2021 will be the 10 Parishes Carnival’s eleventh year and we hope that after a long wait, it will be brighter, more imaginative and crazier than ever!  The procession can be whatever your mind wants it to be. You can decorate your wheelbarrow, cart, pram, buggy or shopping trolley but the vital element is You!  Your creation has to be people powered so that we can offer the greenest and zaniest procession anywhere.  In previous years, the procession has hosted hairy monsters, dragons, pirate ships, arks, ghosts and spaceships.

This year, the theme of the Festival and Carnival Day is “New Leaf”.  In 2019, we asked you to re-use anything plastic that usually would have gone to landfill.  This year, we have images of new growth, rebirth and new life for 2021 as we all travel from difficult times to happier, fresh times.  Let your leaves and flowers grow, adorn your creations with nature’s abundance and show everyone the beauty of New Leaves.

Entries can be as simple or as complicated as you like.  Some have seen whole families combining to create massive ensembles.  Perhaps you and your friends can become a wooded glade or a forest!  Let your imagination go wild – it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you DO it!
