Annie Jeffs Fine Art and Mixed Media
I make art from all kinds of stuff, I make paintings without paint! For some time now I have used plasticine to recreate well known paintings and also my own original works. This last year I have been experimenting with collage, using paper and other materials. I am then a mixed media artist.
I will have work both framed and unframed, plus cards to exhibit and sell. As an artist I like to work in collaboration with others and believe creativity is innate within us all and that is something to acknowledge and celebrate.
Cat Mills Jewellery
My focus is on working with recycled metal. I melt down scrap sterling silver and either cast it into my designs, or forge it into organic shapes.
I run day courses, working with new and recycled sterling silver, from my workshop near Skilgate. At a time when reuse and recycle is on so many people’s minds, I enjoy sharing my process with curious visitors or course participants.
For the 10 Parishes Festival I will I will display new pieces from my cast collection “For the love of water”, made using the ancient technique of cuttle bone casting. This form of casting dates back hundreds of years and creates totally one off pieces, that capture hand carved designs, whilst retaining the beautiful organic “waves” that are the natural structure of the cuttlebone. Cuttlebones are often found washed up on beaches, a by-product of the sea, so nothing is harmed when used in this way.
I will also show new sand cast works, found things cast in recycled silver. I have a selection of larger pieces, alongside rings, earrings and pendants on sale. My handmade jewellery is all made with traditional hand tools and avoids using harmful chemicals and packaged in recycled boxes.
Cat Mills Pop Up Workshop: Cost is £35 plus silver at £1 per gram.
From a small pop-up workspace at our venue I will also run demonstrations and offer ‘have a go’ cuttlebone casting tasters (booking essential ). Bring along your broken jewellery, odd earrings, or old silver cutlery, and let’s see what we can make with it.
For booking casting tasters please email Cat Mills: firstname.lastname@example.org

Have a Heart
Cat is auctioning this silver and coral pendant, with earrings, to raise money for the refugees fleeing from the conflict in Afghanistan
This unique piece is hand-cast, using recycled silver, from a pebble I found on Combe Martin beach. Strung with vintage red coral and silver beads. Fastened with a button catch made from a silver spoon handle and includes a matching set of coral and silver earrings.
All the money from the sale of this necklace and earrings will go to refugees from Afghanistan.
To make Cat an offer, if you would like to own this beautiful necklace, email her at: email@example.com
The necklace will go to the highest offer by the end of the 10 parishes festival (19th of September). The current highest bid is at £60. The necklace would retail for much more!
The necklace will be on display at our venue in Wiveliscombe, number 24 in the festival guide.
